Tom Coreynen – European Contact – Belgium
Tom comes from Antwerpen, Belgium. He has extensive international travel and work experience especially in the areas of public relations as well as youth-centered activities. Having traveled and worked in Japan, he has a very good understanding of the Japanese culture, and is looking forward to giving you more information about the World Campus – Japan program! Danni Nielsen – European Contact – Denmark
Danni was born in Denmark in 1984 and lived in a small suburb until he finished Youth College in 2005. In 2005 Danni left Denmark to see the world, gain global perspectives, do humanitarian work and to create an international network. He returned after 2 years from a world tour including 16 Countries such as USA, Mexico, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Thailand, Cambodia and Japan. One country that really took Danni’s breath away was the "land of the rising sun". Danni returned 3 times to Japan spending 4 months in total immersing himself deeply into the culture. "Japan is so mysterious, truly a place full of adventures and learning opportunities in regards to business, education, global awareness and of course the amazing exotic food". Brenda Petersen – European Contact – Denmark
Brenda’s passion and career focus has always centered around the field of youth leadership.  A skilled project manager, Brenda has worked for a variety of youth leadership programs both in Japan and elsewhere. Originally from the Seattle area, USA, Brenda has been living in Denmark for nearly a decade. Fully fluent in the Danish language, Brenda looks forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have about this exciting program at bpetersen@worldcampus.org


Kirsi Heiskanen – European Contact – Finland
Kirsi comes from up North, in beautiful Finland. Her career focus has always been in social welfare. Kirsi has worked in different projects run by non-profit organizations. At this time she’s working in a foster home as a caregiver. Her passion has always been travelling and after she graduated from university of applied science, she joined a multicultural education program. This program gave her the opportunity to travel, learn and experience different cultures including Japan. Thomas Greve – European Contact – Germany
Thomas lives in the Hanseatic city of Rostock, Germany. Growing up in the former German Democratic Republic, he understands the critical importance of connecting diverse people to break down unnecessary barriers. Thomas spends a lot of his time as a volunteer with non–profit organizations including the Rostock German – Japanese friendship club where he gained a sincere appreciation of Japanese culture. Ute Leonhardt – European Contact – Germany
Ute lives in the city of Mainz, Germany. After finishing an apprenticeship in a bank she took a year off to join a multicultural educational program and travelled around the world. Back home she studied psychology and today she works in the field of human resources. Ute likes sports, theater acting and continuously does different kinds of voluntary work in her community. Travelling and experiencing different cultures is still Ute´s passion – and one reason why she joined the World Campus – Japan program in 2008. Laurence Horan – European Contact – Ireland
Laurence has a passion for developing people, traveling and understanding other cultures. He recently created a project in his local community that brings together young Irish and Muslims through the medium of football. With his Maths degree he is currently working towards becoming a maths teacher and bringing all his cultural experiences from places like Japan, Ecuador, Egypt and India into the classroom. He has spent over three months in Japan living with host families and gaining understanding of their unique culture. Mirjana Matic-Schädler – European Contact – Liechtenstein
Mirjana was born in Serbia and grew up in Liechtenstein, a very small country in the middle of Europe. A year of travelling with an international educational group gave her precious insight into many a home and region throughout the U.S. and Europe and led to a deeper understanding of how diverse cultures can be and yet how similar the needs of people anywhere still are. After this experience the desire for travelling and exploring other parts of the world remained. Currently Mirjana is a study abroad advisor and encourages students of an experience abroad of their own. Henning Rodtwitt – European Contact – Norway
Henning was born in the Kingdom of Norway. After finishing school and his community service time, he left Norway to learn more about the cultures of the world and especially the eastern continent, with the World Campus – Japan program. After having a great experience there, and offered a road staff position, he joined the June – August 2008 tour helping out with production matters for the weekly Thank-you Event sharing his love for music and performance. When he is not on the tour, he is in China, teaching English in elementary schools while learning about that culture and language. Ana Raluca – European Contact – Romania
Ana was raised in a small town near the Danube river in a big Romanian family. Like her dad, she studied law and got her degree in Criminal Law and International Relations. While working at the European Integration Ministry, she had the opportunity to enroll in an intercultural leadership program which also led her to employment as an admission assistant. During this experience, she discovered wonderful Japan, along with its amazing people and ancient traditions. She would be more than happy to share about her experiences in this country, her host families as well as her special Japanese friends at romania@worldcampus.org


Irina Klimova – European Contact – Russia
Irina was born in Baikonur, a well-known rocket launching base in Soviet Kazakhstan. At the age of seven she moved to Russia's capital- Moscow. There she graduated with honours in International Relations from the People's Friendship University of Russia. She strongly believes that while travelling and making friends in each part of the world we become conscious of the world's problems. And the best way to learn about the world is to be a part of everyday, local life. Her experiences of living with Japanese families are some of the most exiting and worthwhile of her life as she got to know the interesting and hidden aspects of Japan and encountered the intimate sides of this great culture. Yannick Franel – European Contact – Switzerland
Born in Geneva and raised in Zurich, Yannick speaks German and French as native languages. He works in the document management department of a bank in Zurich while studying economics at the University of Applied Science where he will graduate in the fall of 2009. In his spare time, he also studies Chinese and is involved in sports, mostly with gym and endurance training. He also likes to read books, listen to music and watch TV. Yannick is a graduate of the February - April 2008 World Campus - Japan program and would be very happy to tell you about his experiences in Japan at switzerland@worldcampus.org


Cyrill Gross – European Contact – Switzerland
Cyrill was born in Zürich and lives not far from the city at the shores of lake Zürich. After several years as a semi-professional sportsman, where he got his first experience in an international environment, he started studying business information technology at the University of Applied Science in 2005. He works with a small startup company as a software engineer and is involved in the Swiss Ski federation as staff for national Biathlon competitions. Cyrill is a graduate of the February - April 2008 World Campus - Japan program and would be very happy to share his experiences that he had in Japan. Bjorn Jurcka – European Contact – The Netherlands
Bjorn was born in a village near Nijmegen, where he joined the Boyscouts almost 25 years ago. In this organisation he met and worked together with many different people, for instance during international camps like the World Jamboree. During his student days at the Twente University (major: Industrial Engineering and Management, Logistics / minor: International Management) he stayed in an international dormitory and participated in study tours to Germany and Spain. He executed his graduation project at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. His parents have hosted many guests from different international organisations. After working for 3.5 years he decided to participate in global citizen programs himself and travelled for a year to 8 countries in North America, Europe and Asia.
